KENTUCKY LAKE PERMITS

Kentucky Lake residents who are planning small construction projects along the shoreline of the Tennessee River and its tributaries or TVA reservoirs may now apply for construction permits online at www.tva.gov/river/26apermits/application_1.htm.

Small projects include building a boat dock, pier or boat ramp or stabilizing the shoreline.  Prior to beginning any construction activities on the shoreline, a TVA 26a construction permit is required.

Applying and paying online for a 26a construction permit is easy and secure, and it will speed up the review process. Here is how it works: Applicants will enter their name, contact information, describe the project, submit drawings or pictures and enter their credit card information.

Once the information is entered, the application is initiated. When TVA receives the application, a confirmation email will be sent to the applicant.

Additional information about TVA’s permitting process is available by calling the new TVA Environmental Information Center at 800-882-5263.
