Candice Farmer of Henry County has already filled her statewide four turkey limit in just nine days of hunting. You could say she speaks the language as most hunters are still hoping to bag their first one this season. She was hunting with her brother Jon Paul Moody on one of the successful outings but the other three were solo hunts where she did the calling and shooting all by her self. “My sister isn’t one to brag but she is an incredible hunter and all four of her turkeys were longbeards,” said brother Jon Paul who was proud of his sister and rightfully so. “I know there are other great hunters in this area but there aren’t many women hunters who have bagged four turkeys in just nine days. This just goes to show you that women can be successful in the outdoors too.” Candice will be the featured speaker at the upcoming Outdoor Ladies’ Day at Covenant Ranch, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 19. She will be giving tips on various aspects of the outdoors so it’s a great opportunity for ladies to learn more from this accomplished sportswoman. A few hours at one of her seminars would be time well spent. For additional information on the upcoming event call Covenant Ranch at 642-2099.
