Tennessee turkey hunters finished the season last Sunday with a total harvest of 30,811 for the year, according to TWRA data. Last year’s harvest was 34,277. The final weekend of season did not see much increase in the overall harvest total. The season got off to a pretty good start but a combination of factors teamed up to add more challenges for Volunteer State hunters this season. As a result, this year’s harvest will fall short of expectations.

Hunters there shot 44,949 turkeys during the regular spring turkey
season April 16 through May 6. Last year's figure was 51,018.
