   Supplementary Information  

Waterfowl Activity:    Of the waterfowl impoundments surveyed this week,
upper Pool 4 had the greatest species diversity with 10 waterfowl species
observed.  Also, 52 % of ducks and 41% of the geese recorded were observed
in upper Pool 4.


Hunting Pressure and Success:   No Data.


Weather:   Daily temperatures were a bit colder than normal this week, with
morning lows in the upper 20o F's and highs around 40o F' .  December 4th a
winter storm moved through middle TN.  Storm dropped about 2" of sleet,
snow, and ice between midnight and midday.  Rain and freezing rain fell
during the afternoon and well into the night.


Habitat:    The greatest concentrations of ducks were observed in newly
flooded moist soils in Pool 2 and open water in upper Pool 4 which has high
density of submerged aquatic vegetation and spatter clock.

Percentage of population covered   70 - 80  %

Observation was based on Ground  counts.

NOTE:  On this week's ground waterfowl survey NO observations were made in
Pool 6, Pool 7 and along the north shore of Elk Reservoir because the road
was not accessible due to bridge construction project.
