by Steve McCadams

February 29th, 2008

Clay Dyer will be the featured speaker at the 12th Annual first Baptist Church Sportsmen’s Night on March 15 in Camden. A BB Gun Shoot will be held for the youth beginning at 4:30 p.m. A barbecue chicken dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m., and Dyer will speak at 6:30 p.m. Dyer was born without any lower limbs, no arm on the left side and a partial arm on the right. However, these limitations did not dampen his determination and positive spirit. His motto is, “If I can, you can!” He has placed first in approximately 20 state bass tournaments and has competed in over 200.

He has been featured on ESPN, Fox, CNN Headline News, the Outdoor Life Network, The Outdoor Channel, Fox Sports South, Charter Sports South, and CBS. Published articles about Clay have appeared in USA Today, Newsweek, BassMaster, FLW Outdoors Magazine, Sports Spectrum Magazine, and the Baptist Standard.

Steve McCadams is a professional hunting and fishing guide here in the Paris Landing area. He has also contributed many outdoor oriented articles to various national publications.
