by Steve McCadams

  www.stevemccadams.com

Taking top honors in the "Casting For A Cure" Kids Fishing Rodeo in the 0-5 age bracket were Tristen Lowe of McKenzie for most points and Collin Smith of McKenzie with biggest fish; 6-8 age bracket points winner was Jimmy Camper of Paris. Tyler Freeland of Jackson had big fish; Age 9-12 point winner was Wynter Strayhorn of McKenzie and Shay Barksdale of McKenzie had big fish; age 13-15 point winner was Joseph Clemens of McKenzie and Spencer Ezell of Huntingdon had big fish.

It was brought to our attention that Joseph Clemens also won his age group in the previous week's fishing rodeo at Lake Graham near Jackson. You never know, we might have a Bill Dance in the making.

All the winners received a specially engraved plaque and a bicycle. The grand prize was a Murray Outdoor Products go-cart, valued at $1,500. The random draw winner was 10-year old Sean Brannan of McKenzie.

Young Daniel Tracher of Pennsylvania traveled the longest distance to fish in the event and earned a rod and reel combo, plus other tackle.

Ten-year old Christopher Brannan of McKenzie won a $1,500 go-cart courtesy of Murray Outdoor Products in a random draw.

The event was filmed by Tennessee Wild Side television series and will be shown in the coming weeks on Public Television Stations all across Tennessee.
