NEW BOAT RAMP IN PARIS LANDING AREA
by Steve McCadams

  www.stevemccadams.com

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Tennessee Valley Authority, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Henry County have teamed up to build a 30' x 120' boat ramp, large parking lot, handicapped fishing pier and courtesy dock for public use. Up to thirty vehicles and boat trailers can be parked there with an overflow parking lot too.

Already under use by fishermen and a variety of pleasure boaters, the ramp got a lot of use this spring during the high water period as many other resort and public launch ramps in the area were inundated and closed off.

Congressman John Tanner, State Representative Butch Borchert and other distinguished guests will take part in a dedication ceremony on July 3rd at 2:30 pm to acknowledge the unique partnership that resulted in a new boat ramp in northern Henry County.

The dedication ceremony will take place at the boat ramp at the end of Port Road off of East Antioch Road, known locally as Little Sulphur Creek.  The public is invited to come to the ceremony and inspect the new facility.

A tip of the hat to these state and federal agencies for responding to the needs of many lake visitors.
